Analysis of Grantees End Report

Last updated: September 26, 2023. Gia

Who is involved in this process:

Grant Support Squad team

Goal of the process:

A 6 month analysis of the responses on the Grantees End Reports to understand grantees learnings, impacts and how can we make a better grants program. This process is part of our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learnings strategy to gather insights from the grantees and make constant changes in the Grants Program to better serve our Decentraland DAO community of creators.

Steps of process:

  1. We take all the Grantees End Reports from the last 6 months, and create a sheets document.
  2. We create a tab in the sheets document for each question in the Grantees End Report form. Which are the following:
    1. Who’s completing this form?
    2. Did you finish your grant project? Yes/No
    3. Please link your grant proposal
    4. ***What did you/your team learn from this Grant? (Please be as extensive as you want!)
    5. What was the most important support you received from Decentraland?
    6. What has changed from the proposal along the way that you didn’t have in mind at first? (Changes are good, as we are learning along the way.)
    7. How would you rate the Decentraland DAO grants program? From 1 being Poor to 5 being Excellent.
    8. From your experience, how can we make a better Grants Program?
    9. Would you be interested in being a mentor for future grantees? Yes / No
    10. Do you want to share something else?
  3. Then we add in each tab the answers from the grantees, one answer per line.
  4. After that, we start reading each answer, and we start adding columns with grantees answers.
  5. For example, in the last analysis, for the question What did you/ your team learn from this grant?, as we started reading, we created a columns such as team building, entrepreneurship abilities, build in Decentraland’s SDK, DCL DAO community culture, Web 3 content creation (NFTs, Wearables, etc).
  6. When we have gone over all the answers for each question, we then make a sum of which of the learnings, changes, and iimpacts were the most mentioned, and take those as insights for the community. Sometimes we add quotes to these findings to give more context to those insights.
  7. We repeat the process with each of the questions from the form, until we have our community learnings from the last 6 months.

We report these learnings every 6 months in the Townhall and in our last update of each Grants Support Squad grant, and with those insights we design our next Grant Support Squad Proposal, including changes to the program based on these insights.
